I want to look at popularity and my text will be Galatians 1:10
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
We all want to be recognized for both who we are and for what we do because when others pat us on the back it makes us feel valuable
Yet, when we look towards others to give us favor, we are placing an unrealistic burden upon them to fulfill this longing for value in our life. For no one individual can ever satisfy the deepest needs of our life because no one could ever know our needs at every given moment.
Now, I have been down that path and it only leads to heartache and disappointment. But, I also have traveled the path of keeping God first, and of learning to lean on His promises and I have found His favor and my importance
My friend, we will never know that God is all we need until God is all we have
