Good day, this is Michael De Rosa, and we will be looking at Psalm 37:8
Cease from anger and forsake wrath;
Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.

Now our natural instinct is to fight back when we have been wronged, and yet we know that this really never helps but only magnifies the discontent we have with the situation.

But God’s word tells us to stop.

Let me give an analogy here:
Just as we notice warning signs for roads being closed and just as we have learned to readily obey them and have not become overly curious as to what lies beyond, we can become aware of God’s signposts to stop our fretting… because it will only lead us down the road of destruction

Friend, while we all know how our problems have festered by not heeding God’s counsel; I would not be surprised if we all know of the peace which God alone has given us when we have chosen His way through those struggles.

So, the next time that we want to give someone a piece of our mind, let’s give those thoughts to God by pouring out our hearts to him.
