That was not what you learned about Christ!
Friend, the original readers of this letter were falling into the same problems we fall into, namely taking on the ways of the world to such an extent that their lifestyles are little different than the non Christians around them
The list of non Christian behaviors in just in this Epistle is quite extensive and it will rips to the core the mindset of person who professes faith in Christ but who do not live as Christ did. In fact, I shudder and weep when I think that Christ Himself has said to such a person “depart from Me, I never knew you.”
But, we learn about Christ only as we sit under the ministries of the apostles, prophet, evangelists, pastors and teachers which we have learned about earlier in the epistle.
Friend, God wants a covenantal relationship with us through Christ such that His glory will be known to others so that they too would know Him as King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Turn to Christ today. He is our only Hope
