This is Michael De Rosa from the Mountainside Community Church in North Newport.
As we are hearing each of our presidential canditates tout their own successes, I want us to remember what true success is
We read in Joshua 1:8-9.
8 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
The key thought from all this is that Success is wrapped up in Courage
- Success is hammered out in our lives as we cut our teeth on the Word of God, and then boldly live out a faithful life through minding His commandments
- Success is the by product of living radically for God. It is not our end goal.
- Success cannot be experienced if we seek the approval of anyone else, but God.
So…regardless of the problems we encounter, when we live in the daily presence of God, we will know courage and discover success
