we are now entering Acts 7.   The big picture here is Witnessing.

Literally, this word in the Greek means martyr; namely, as Christians we are called to be martyrs for our Lord. In other words, we are called to follow  Him, regardless of the cost. 

And, in this chapter we are introduced to a man named Stephen who boldly proclaimed the good news… and it cost him his life.

One too many Christians, though, fear for their lives, their reputations, ands so become apprehensive when  witnessing.  For instance, they may inadvertently sugar coat the message of Salvation by talking too much about the great activities the church has for families; or, the tend to emphasize  the peace and joy that come from having our sins forgiven and downplay the cost of being a disciple

And why is that?  It is because unlike Stephen, they are not filled with grace and power

In  closing, let me leave you with this question:  what do you need to do to live as a Witness today?
