If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”
Now, some folks, like me daily contend with the tyranny of the oughts. Such thoughts of ‘do not handle this, don’t do this or that, you should consider this option… frequent my thought life. So this Scripture is a God send, as it reminds me that since I am a Christian, I don’t need to give in to that slavish tyranny.
Rather, as I intently look to Jesus, yielding to him each tyranny that comes into my mind, I find -again, His peace as He provides me with the assurance that it is safe to make mistakes with Jesus
For I have learned, again, that being perfect is NOT my goal, but being intimate with God is.
