I am in Acts 10 and the theme is the Gospel is for Everyone
How well do we believe this?
Have we wrestled through our prejudices, like Peter -here in this chapter; or do we harbor certain taboos as to who can and can not be saved.
Consider, for example, do you think a serial killer could go to heaven? Or a sexual predator? Or, what about a man who lost his life savings on a gambling addiction, while leaving his family in shambles?
Now let me flip your focus around and ask this question: just how good is good enough to get to heaven?
Friend, we must be very careful to not let our theologies dictate God’s standard for Salvation; or else we are putting ourselves into the role of supreme judge.
Friend, unless we come to grips with the reality that only Jesus saves…regardless of our actions, we are missing out on the Power of the Gospel Story; and downplaying God’s grace and mercy.
