
We are in Acts 15
Let’s note, firstly, that the Gospel is for all people
Now we may gloss over this here, but let’s consider how the prejudice which the Jew had towards the Gentiles can become our prejudice towards others with whom we are less inclined to share the Good News. Consider these examples:
- People who knew the right thing to do but choose wrong
- Or, people who have hurt us
Secondly, let’s look at the sharp disagreement in verse 39.
Such times are destructive when they consume our time and energy away from witnessing for our Lord, but…
… when we recognize that our perceptions of situations are not necessarily shared by others, we can began to more effectively address disagreements.
So the real big picture is that God has wonderful trumped our prejudices and perceptions by radically loving us in and through His Son; and when we come to experience His love , nothing can hold us back in sharing the Good news…regardless of the person we meet or the difficulty we are in
