My focus for today and the next weeks is on Prayer. Today we are looking at Luke 11:1 where the disciples are asking Jesus to teach them to pray
Friends, think about the last time that prayer become a shopping list of concerns which were sandwiched between a ‘Dear God’ and an ‘Amen’…
…and we know that when this happens, we are doing all the talking, and end up NOT listening to our Lord.
So try this. The next time you pray ask yourself these questions:
- since God is all knowing, doesn’t He already know my concerns?
- Since He is all loving, won’t He do what is best for me to know Him more?
- And, since He is all Powerful, can’t He show me how to surmount every concern I bring to Him?
Now, how might asking ourselves those questions change the landscape of our praying?
Well one way that it has impacted me is that I am less stressed because I rest in God’s sovereignty
