Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Unfortunately, one too many of us, get derailed in our faith because we don’t heed this life giving instruction:
Here are just one example of our NOT seeking the things above:
- We say that our whole day is ruined because it is raining and the picnic we planned weeks ago will not happen
What is happening here is that the person is taking the fact that it is raining, but then passing judgment that it will be a bad day. Now this type of a Christian witness is is about as appealing as a train wreck
Now, seeking the things above is NOT about positive thinking. Rather it is living with the realization of actually being raised up in Christ, namely, being born-again, and though we DO acknowledge our daily concerns, we ALSO open ourselves up to the Spirit of God, who will strengthen our resolve to keep focused on the things above, namely all that is good.
