Come Rest Matthew 11:28

Good Morning, this is Michael De Rosa and today I want to look at Jesus’ words on Rest. This reading is from Matthew 11:28

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

This past week was excruciatingly pain-filled for my wife and I. Our son suffered a concussion, and our daughter and son-in-law were running for shelter from Tornados.

I was a bit overwhelmed, and started to think about those good ole days, when these problems were not a part of our life, when life as easier.

Then I snapped back into reality, chuckling to myself:

It wasn’t any easier. The problems were just different.

And back then, we took those problems to Jesus, and somehow He brought us rest in the midst of the problems.

Well….still got the problems. And …they will never leave me –or you- on this side of eternity.

But the bigger question that we need to ask ourselves is this:

Do we have Jesus?

To know that He cares makes all the difference in the world.

The best way I can describe it is like this:

The pressures of life that hit me every day

have simply been no match

for the Presence of His life within me.

How about you? How are you resting these days

Blessings on your  day,

-Michael
