Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus
Friend, what we learn -again- is that regardless of the number of years we have been Christian, there is still more to living than we know so far. And this pressing on, this holy yearning will never be quenched with any earthly pursuits. Not that any of this is bad…but in light of eternity, it is not good enough.
Christ is the only foundation that can tether us to this world so that we can know what it means to be fully alive. And our relationship with Him is meant to be dynamic as we daily learn what it means to trust in God’s abundance of good things He continually has for us.
So when even difficult times come, learn to press on, lay hold of, seize the moment for what God has already laid hold of you for in Christ Jesus
