Two arrows: the first is straight and is called "Expectations". The second is all knotted and twisted and is called "Reality"

Life can get really messed up as we are making plans.

What you see is what you get.  Or, to put this is the words of Scripture:

whatever a man sows, this he will also reap

Galatians 6:7b

From God’s vantage point, His salvation imparts NEW LIFE.

The problem is from our perspective.  While we believe this, we struggle to live in that new life.

Here are the slides for our Discipleship Journey from August 24, 2014 that strives to help our brothers and sisters better grasp all this:

Let me tell you a story about this.

Many years ago, because becoming Christian. I was a sincere church goer. I knew that God loved people, and I knew that there was a heaven and there was peace and joy for people from Him.  here is no problem with the blessings of salvation that He has given to us.  I even read the Bible…a little, and the parts that spoke of this new life were very confusing for me to grasp.

Can I get an AMEN for the evidence of my unspiritual carnal mind?

Basically, my perception of how to attain this new life that God had for me was one of mass effort couple with confusion.

Then, the proverbial light went on when God showed me my sinfulness and His salvation not my perception of it.

The joy and peace He has given me for these many years is as vibrant as when He first made that impression on me.  Though my life has not been the proverbial cake walk, I have know His peace and joy even in the midst of some excruciating situations.

So, what I am suggesting to you, reader, is that if your Biblical beliefs are not being lived out, please take inventory of your life to find out the problem.

God loves you too much to have you live less than an abundant life.
