We are using Acts 3 as our backdrop with the topic being Miracles
Put simply, miracles are events where we recognize that God showed up. Yet, consider this: Why do we not see these more? For instance,
- Why do we only give credit to the therapists who see marriages restored or
- only thank the doctors when a life saving surgery goes well or
- only shower a stranger with thanks for stopping to help us fix our broken down car?
For where did the therapist and doctor acquire such skills; and why would a total stranger want to help?
So, why not consider that God has intervened by way of giving of us skills and hearts of compassion to help one another?
So, in closing, recall how children have such a wide-eyed, expectant, crazy-can-do-anything view of life; but then loose that awe as they grow up? Also, recall that God is calling us children…not adults.
Might we relearn to see life through the eyes of a child and just expect God to be showing up all over the place? Might we just begin to see more miracles?
