Acts 2. The focus will be the reason for being filled with the Holy Spirit.
In the last chapter, we learned that the Holy Spirit would empower people to be God’s witnesses. Now, we actually read about this happening in Peter’s bold sermon which brought individuals to repentance, and God’s people coming together sharing their provisions such that no one had need for any thing
This is simply profound: the Holy Spirit bringing people to God Himself, and bringing people together. That is unity. And, that will draw people to the Gospel.
Walking in the Spirit, or living by the Spirit is a self-less life, yet one that is filled with power because of the resolve to live out the Gospel, regardless of the situation we find ourselves in.
…and, then leave the results to God, We could be like a Jeremiah, through whom there is no record of anyone coming to salvation, or be like a Peter through whom many come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Either way, through our yielding, God will be glorified.
