I chose watchmen to watch over you.
I told them, ‘Listen for the sound of the war trumpet.’
But they said, ‘We will not listen!’
The parallels between our society’s and ancient Israel’s bent towards sin is striking. The one thing that I want to bring out today is this: the Church is tasked with sounding the alarm that judgment is coming for our sins.
YET, are God’s people doing this? Yes…and no. Namely, there is a only a smattering of concern.
Let me list one of my own observations:
- We are more concerned to be politically correct in our interactions with others than in being spiritually attuned with a Holy and Sovereign God.
Now, listen to me carefully: I am NOT talking about becoming militant. Only Christlike. Namely, Boldly and clearly and with Love declaring God’s desire for all men to be saved from eternal destruction
Not a popular message. And it did not go over well in Jeremiah’s day either.
