My focus the importance of listening when we pray, and my text is Psalm 46:10, which reads
Cease striving and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
Consider how much of our lives have passed us by because we did not listen to others’ wisdom; but rather, went headlong into actions that appeared so good to us at the moment , but were later regretted
Now, in a recent sermon, I mentioned our propensity to just start talking when we pray. Now I need you to consider what it truly means to listen. To listen to God. Allow yourself to sit with your thoughts while simply reflecting upon God’s word. Your agenda, per se, is not to tell God what He already knows, but…To. Be. Still. God spoke to His people, and He still speaks today to us.
How, might you say? Find out by being still with God’s Word opened before you. At such a time, then, He will be exalted
