Today I want to talk about hypocrisy and my text is Matthew 15:7-8
You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:
8 ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me.
Hypocrisy does not stop being problematic for the Christian. For, as we earnestly seek our Lord He can show us areas of our life that might not be as good as we would have wanted to think, and then we are given this opportunity to decide what we want to do with this information
And while this is very uncomfortable to realize, I beg you, my friend, don’t turn away from it acknowledging it.
Rather, recognize that God desires -even more than you- to rid it from your life. You can not do this on your own, and every time you disregard this, that will become one less opportunity you have to know God in a dynamic and powerful way, and one less opportunity you will have to be that Godly witness to others.
Hypocrisy is the Devil’s playground, but it is God’s intent to refine you as He draws you through this time.
