Romans 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

We will center on the phrase “so that you may prove what the will of God is”

Proving is a powerful call to active discernment. What I mean by this is that it implies a practical testing and validating what the Lords has deemed good.  Namely, ‘proving’   suggests a journey of transformation of becoming more Christ-like.

Thus, one’s capacity to discern God’s will deepens because the believer is purposefully adopting a life style that continuously evaluates his or her  thoughts, actions, and motivations against the standard of God’s revealed truth.

This type of living moves our faith in Christ beyond mere theory towards becoming the breath we need to stay living
