Psalm 37:9

For evildoers will be cut off,
But those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land.

The eternal implications here are great, as well as those for the present day.

And… this matter of eternal is not up for public opinion, but rests solidly only in the Lord Jesus Christ. Namely, If He is not your Savior, you will be cut off from Heaven; and, if you have confessed your sins and received His forgiveness, you will inherit your place in Heaven.

Now, as I said earlier, this also has implication for today. People who do not know God are restless and they are doing their best to fill that sense of longing with anything…but God: More money, better relationships, improved job conditions, but nothing will not bring lasting contentment for they have cut themselves off from God.

And second -and in closing- those who wait for the Lord will have rest for today: regardless of the stresses they go through, their confidence in God’s sovereignty gives them a hope that transcends the present day struggles.

Oh, my friend choose life today. Choose Life!
