Good morning, friends. This is Michael De Rosa from the Mountainside Community Church in North Newport and today we are looking at Galatians 5:16
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
God really does make things simple for His children by telling us how to avoid inappropriate desires. Rather than a list of intricate strategies of how to avoid temptation, He gives 4 words:
Walk by the Spirit
But, alas, we complicate this too often, in our efforts to to be faithful: we chisel away certain times for devotions; we make room for fellowship and worship with other Christians; and we participate in various ministries at our church
And…while some of that, or maybe all of that could be what it means to walk by the Spirit, such an approach is convoluted because of presumptions of knowing what is required to live by faith, instead of waiting upon our Lord for His leading.
