Good Morning, this is Michael De Rosa from the Mountainside Community Church in north Newport. And today, we are looking 1 Peter 5:6
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time
God, Himself, is calling us to come under His protection for outside of His watchful strong care, we will not be able to withstand the ravages of this world: the insults, the lusts, the approval of others.
We will be undone and even be at the point of not knowing how we came to such a sorry state.
Do not confuse worldly contentment with God’s care. The devil will do all he can to bring us to a place of false security which we can readily see by observing that God does not have first place in our life at all times. We can readily note this as you presume things as self evident and therefore dismiss the need and the value of His guidance through His Word.
Humility affords us with the discernment to know His leading and the strength to follow Him.
