Good Morning, this is Michael De Rosa and today I want to talk about bearing burdens.  Let’s turn to Galatians 6:2

Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.

Galatians 6-2Helping others will interrupt our schedules.  And that can be difficult IF we are solely operating on our own strength of good works.

When we don’t take into account the vertical dimension of helping others, namely God’s command for us to help,  we can quickly run out of physical, emotional and spiritual strength as we lend helping hands.

The law of Christ is not legalistic, but it has been orchestrated in and through His jealous love for us, namely He knows what we need to live with complete contentment and will spare nothing to help us embrace that Good News.

And one huge item in God’s master plan for us is to help others so that they too can know God through Jesus.

So the next time you are inclined to help someone ask yourself:  Why am I doing this?  And if it is for any other reason that to fulfill His law, then please reconsider how your time can be more wisely used.
