2 Corinthians 5:14-15Good morning, friends. This is Michael De Rosa from the Mountainside Community Church in North Newport and today we are looking at 2 Corinthians 5:14-15:
14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; 15 and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

It seems a strange combination of words here “love controlling us”
For being in love connotes freedom, satisfaction, desires fulfilled, joy. While control conjures us imprisonment, against our will, manipulation, and our natural response is to bristle!

Well, when we dig a little deeper into this word ‘control’, we discover that the it comes from the Greek word which literally means ‘to to hold together’.

So consider with me, if you will, how a loving parents, at times, goes through great anguish, to ‘hold together’ his family.

Might you and I benefit from knowing Someone who loves us and knows us intimately and has given us carefully scripted parameters to “hold us together” in we can live like King’s kids?

Blessings on Your Journey of faith
